ISLAMABAD: The government is considering submitting a presidential reference against the special court's decision to include 'co-abettors' in the treason trial against former president Pervez Musharaf, Express News reported on Tuesday.
The former military ruler is being tried for holding the 1973 Constitution in abeyance and taking other emergency measures in 2007. Musharraf had requested to include the names of then civil and military leaders.
The request was partially accepted when the court decided to include the names of three senior ex-functionaries.
However, through the presidential reference, the government would argue that the special court does not have the authority to include others in the high-profile treason case.

A good move on the part of Govt. Now judiciary will get space to reach final decision to give relief to Mussaraf .
Here we go with another interpretation of implementation of constitution with letter and spirit as PML-N say..... Lolz!!!!!
How ironic that up until this ruling by the special court the prosecution and all the PMLN functionaries had been stating all over the media that it would be up to the court to choose if others should be included in the case. And now they are considering presidential reference to claim the court does not have such authority. It seems like Musharraf has this cat, I mean this lion, by the tail.
such a move smacks of personal vendetta of PML N. Why others who were part of the mess, not included ? because, then it will open a pandoras box.
The best that an illegally elected Government can do is to try the person who provided the nation the Local Government which provided us both Clean surroundings and Self respect.
