Shortly after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s press conference in the federal capital, Rafiq, along with other Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, alleged that his [Imran] actual target was to damage Pakistan’s national interests.
Responding to Imran’s allegations of printing extra ballot papers, Rafiq said it was standard operating procedure adopted by the Election Commission of Pakistan in all previous elections.
Regarding rigging in his constituency, Rafiq argued that neither a written complaint nor any photographic or video evidence was presented as proof by PTI.
The PML-N leader claimed that Imran was “intellectually dishonest” who was dreaming of becoming the prime minister of Pakistan but the voters had yet to support him.
The railway minister further said that while Imran often asks how the PML-N bagged 15 million votes, but never mentions there was an increase in voter turnout and the number of registered voters in 2013.
He explained that their party was well prepared for the May 2013 polls, translating into good performance on election day. “Shahbaz Sharif had given Punjab a model of good governance.”
Rather than making baseless allegations, Rafiq suggested that the PTI chief should insteadt mount legal a challenge if he has any evidences against the PML-N.
PTI’s internal inquiry report on election defeat
Privatisation Commission chairman Mohammad Zubair claimed that a PTI internal enquiry report on its electoral defeat says tickets were sold rather than being distributed on merit.
He added that Imran did not meet his workers and was not aware of ground realties, among other factors.

I trust foreign powers more than Saad Rafiq and NS. Good news for the country!
Khwaja Saad , than what is harm in investigating ballot boxes ?
@Zaryan: You somehow neglected to name those "powers"!!!!
I agree 200% with Saad Rafique. Imran is doing the dirty work of powers that dont want Pakistan to prosper.
I am not for IK and PTI but do not buy Saad's stupid theory that he is playing in the hands of foreign powers. This is exactly what we are against IK for pitching useless allegations against everyone. If Saad is doing the same one has to strongly condemn his statement.
You left out Iran who fed Qadri on diet, comfort, and possible support when he visited Iran. Actually, the plan was to go through Qadri with backing of the establishment and IK was being used as a pawn. But a possible rapprochement between the establishment and the Government took the sales out of Qadri's movement, and IK has been left stranded. IK was to be used only for removing the Govt. only as the establishment in the last resort does not trust IK with power.
Guess who is among to be likely affected adversely if China provides less expensive electricity? IPPs! You guessed it right. So the possibility of the IPPs and their domestic and foreign lobbies supporting IK and PTI cannot be ruled out. But they are so powerful that no one can stop them.
We don't need enemies when we have egoistic people like IK among us. Knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or unintentionally , he is becoming the worst covert enemy of Pakistan. The overt enemies will be partying like anything. May ALLAH guide him
Since when an individual, or a political party, is authorized or responsible for criminal investigations? I fully remember that not only a petition was filed by his PTI opponent, Hamid Khan, in Lahore High Court, but also he was the very first who staged protests, rallies, and sit-ins in his constituency against the rigging. Please don't take public memory for granted.
Imran Khan and Qadri are the only Two political leaders who will not allow you to play by Chaudrys and Waderas rule anymore. Pakistan is already in turmoils and don't forget the 1.5 billion donated to your regime was not funded locally. Nobody is sleeping in Pakistan anymore, You need to wake up. Saad!!!!!
Who is bigger foreign power then USA..and they support you openly.. Stop these lies you habitual Liar Khawjaz
"Foreign powers backing Imran Khan to destablise Pakistan: Saad Rafiq"
