Toba fell prey to India’s Manan Chandra, who completed an easy 4-2 win with scores of 71-06, 67-41, 28-85, 70-41, 12-67 and 95-0.
Hamza also failed to carry his fine run from the group stages to the knockout phase and succumbed to a 4-1 defeat against England’s Nick Jennings, whose dominant victory was secured with a scoreline of 76-37, 77-22, 40-62, 73-49 and 82-0.
The only positive news for Pakistan was Muhammad Sajjad’s convincing 4-2 victory over Singapore’s Keng Kwang Chan with scores of 83-04, 84-0(84), 35-59, 67-03, 33-70 and 85-41. The national champion will face Duane Jones of Singapore in the last 32.
According to information made available by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association, Sajjad’s record in the tournament is currently the best among 112 players.
