Strained relationship : Woman ‘poisoned’ by husband, in-laws

FAISALABAD: A woman was allegedly killed her husband and in-laws in Samundri area on Sunday. A police spokesman said Hina Rafiq, a resident of Rajana Road, had married Waseem alias Goga of her free will. He said on Saturday evening, Hina fell ill after eating dinner. He said she was taken to a hospital where she died. Hina’s cousin Akhtar Hameed told police Hina had married Waseem against his family’s wishes. He said his family had encouraged him to leave her. He said meanwhile, Hina also starting demanding a separate house for her because she did not get along with her in-laws, who, she said, were harassing her  and taunting her. He said Waseem and his family had poisoned Hina’s food after an argument on Saturday night. The Samundri station house officer said the girl’s body had been taken into custody and dispatched to a morgue for autopsy. He said further action would be taken against the family once the medico-legal report was sent to them by the morgue.
