Sindh Rangers arrest six members of banned outfit

Sindh Rangers spokesperson says huge cache of arms, ammunition also seized during the operation

KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers arrested on Saturday six criminals belonging to an outlawed organisation in a targeted operation in the Manghopir area of Karachi on Saturday, Radio Pakistan reported.  

According to a spokesperson of Sindh Rangers, a huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized during the operation.

The arrested terrorists were involved in a number of terrorist activities including sectarian and target killings, the spokesperson added.

Earlier this month, Rangers were given additional powers equivalent to those of the police to maintain law and order and control the menace of targeted killings Karachi for a term of three months by the provincial government.

In the on-going targeted operation in Karachi, the Rangers have so far conducted 3,561 raids in which 2,935 criminals, including 152 target killers, 225 extortionists, 28 kidnappers and 12 militants have already been arrested.
