Corporate corner: Pakistan seeks Swedish energy solutions

Of the total energy consumed in Sweden in 2013, more than 50% came from renewable sources

A delegation of Pakistani companies will visit Sweden from November 24-29 to hold meetings with experts and companies from green technology and renewable energy to explore opportunities for partnerships and joint ventures. Of the total energy consumed in Sweden in 2013, more than 50% came from renewable sources excluding nuclear energy, which accounted for 14.9% of total consumption. “Sweden has a wide range of unique solutions that could make a major contribution to overcoming Pakistan’s energy crisis in a step-by-step manner,” said Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan Tomas Rosander.

Pakistan is energy starved and needs to overcome the energy crises as soon as possible, policy of pursuing the energy mix policy including the nuclear and alternative energy sources are sensible. Pakistan should invite the foreign investors to open the new ways of economic progress.

Pakistan is an energy starved nation. Massive power cuts, frequent disruption in power supply has made its industry vulnerable to economic collapse. It is most important for energy exports to reach out the other nations with expertize in energy sector. It most important contemporary challenge for Pakistan.
