PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) President Fawad Ishaq highlighted that energy shortfall was the major challenge damaging Pakistan’s economy and industry, stressing the need to complete the signed projects. He said this while giving importance to bring foreign investment to country in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s latest trip to China. KPCCI chief said industries in K-P were badly affected by incidents of terrorism, poor law and order situation and energy shortfall that resulted in the flight of capital to other provinces. Cases of kidnapping for ransom, extortion and target killings have also made a very negative impact on the economy of the province. Ishaq said improvement in law and order and infrastructure development would not only stop the flight of capital but also encourage investment in the region.

The confidence of investor in KP must be re-build by the ruling Govt in the province and should take immediate and emergency steps to build business platform in the province which would lead the province independent growth and stability.
