A workshop aiming to impart knowledge and skills to those interested in starting small business as entrepreneurs was held by the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation at Fatima Jinnah Women University on Wednesday.
The workshop, titled “Women Empowerment through Entrepreneurship”, saw various training sessions on self-grooming by prominent beauticians of the country, who shared their knowledge and tips with the audience and also guided them on how their sphere of work could be expanded.
While addressing the audience, Former federal minister Nilofar Bakhtiar said education is a major tool to empower women. She highlighted issues of professional development of women and urged them to come forward and play their role in developing the country’s economy.
Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Syed Asad Mashadi said RCCI believes in the vision of empowering women through entrepreneurship. He hoped that linkages with the university will be stronger in the future.
In connection with the World Polio Day observed last month, an awareness walk was also arranged.
