JHANG: A young boy is searching for his parents this Eid, after having been separated from them in a car accident three months ago.

According to Rescue workers, 15-year-old Jamal Haider was severely injured in a traffic accident three months ago and got separated from his family. Haider was brought to the local district headquarters (DHQ) hospital where he received treatment for two months in the emergency ward.

“No one came to visit him during that time,” said Nida, a nurse at the hospital, adding that Haider kept mentioning that he wanted to go back to his family but had no idea about where they lived.

After two months of treatment Haider broke out of the hospital and tried to look for his parents on the streets. Due to extreme weakness and the nature of his injuries he collapsed on the road near Sattelite Town and a resident of the area Saima brought him back to the hospital. “I assured him that I would help him look for his family.

He was extremely weak when I found him,” Saima said.

Doctors at the DHQ hospital contacted the police to help look for Haider’s parents but all he was able to give them was the name of his father, Chand, who was a mechanic. “I am not going to spend Eid in this hospital,” Haider said, adding that he was determined to find his parents and appealed to the government for help in locating his father.
