Roemer urges resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue

US ambassador to India, Timothy Roemer, urges New Delhi to restart dialogue process with Pakistan.

Express November 16, 2010

The US ambassador to India, Timothy Roemer, on Tuesday urged New Delhi to restart the dialogue process with Pakistan.

Roemer was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a seminar. He said that increased communication between India and Pakistan was in the best interests of both nations.

During his visit to India, US President Barack Obama had said the United States cannot impose a solution to the Kashmir dispute, but would be happy to play any role that the two countries thought appropriate in moving the process forward.

On a similar note, Roemer expressed hope that trust would develop between the two neighbours through talks on Kashmir.

Rajat | 14 years ago | Reply I find that Pakistani news talks more about international reactions on indo-pak dialogue than India itself. By my experience in the comments section of ET I get a picture that pakistan does not want to trade or have bilateral-dialogues with india. Care to throw some light on that.
