Breach of discipline: PTI cancels Javed Naseem's party membership
Naseem, elected from PK-3, had on October 5 staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club against the PTI leadership and issued statements against them. This had prompted the PTI leadership to issue him a show-cause notice to explain why he had breached party policy.
In a press release issued on Saturday, PTI said that per directives and approval of the party’s provincial President Azam Swati, Naseem’s basic party membership was terminated. “A letter of cancellation of party membership is served to him and a copy of the same is sent to the secretary provincial assembly Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Election Commission of Pakistan for necessary action.”
Naseem has had a history of differences with the PTI leaders, especially Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. Elected from Peshawar city in the May 2013 general elections, Naseem and Khattak fell out a year ago. As a result of their differences, Naseem even headed a forward block of PTI MPA’s in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly. He had been attending recent sessions of the assembly with a black band on his mouth.
The group of dissidents still exists but it seemed to be on the verge of collapse when Deputy Speaker Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi was inducted in the cabinet as Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister. Other members of the dissident group now plan fielding their own candidate for the Deputy Speaker post.

It's only in Pakistan that one could see people criticizing PTI for following the laid down rules of conduct. A member was served a show cause notice for a perfectly valid reason. He violated discipline by never responding. Kudos to PTI for maintaining discipline. We the Pakistanis are not used to this culture.
The irony is that only a few days back Shokat Yousufai appreciated his stance and said that his objections are testimonial to PTI's democratic ideology and that PTI is a party where dissenting voice is not shut down. Wow is this not fascism.
IN many ways IK is good for the country. The reason being his party is in need of rich lotas and IK in need of funds and influence, gave in to them. However, his future line of action will paint a different picture of corruption and development. Salams
Good to see that PTI is getting rid of Black sheeps. The Black sheeps can go to PMLN, maybe they will offer some respite to them.
PTI has been following the path of another party where dissent is not allowed at all. They are all treated as slaves of lifetime party 'chiefs. This is not the new Pakistan we have been waiting for. In a democratic society dissent must be allowed and there should not be character assassination of dissenting members.
Who cares, PTI is an irrelevant political party, why are we even writing about their debacles.
