ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with his top advisers and cabinet members on Friday to discuss the current political situation of the country.
Participants of the meeting included Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Minister for Planning and Commission Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information Senator Pervez Rashid and Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch.
Although the meeting is currently underway, sources said the topics up for discussion were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s sit ins, Javed Hashmi's lost seat in Multan’s by-election NA-149, Pakistan People’s Party and Jamat-e-Islami's announced public rallies across the country and other pending affairs.
Dar and Asif apprised the participants about their recent US visit.
Apart from the aforementioned topics, Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan called on PM Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The PM is scheduled to visit China in the first week of November to sign various energy related projects.
In preparation for the visit a high level bureaucratic team on Monday will leave for China to finalize arrangements and to give final shape to the proposed projects which Chinese investors have to start in Pakistan.

Nervousness
@Cynic Waheed: They aren't useless if he comes back from them wealthier each time.
If he did less chairing and more reading of Govt. Reports and taking action on them after thinking through then others would be doing more of their job and less of attending useless meetings that are blame everyone else sessions.

PMLN must be wondering how they are ever going to win another election without rigging.
If the full force of the PMLN and govt machinery cannot win a by-election, it doesn't bode well for PMLN for midterm elections...or even the 30 odd by-elections when Ayaz sadiq finally decides to accept PTI resignations.
