KARACHI:

Security guards foiled an attempted robbery at Summit Bank’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar branch on Monday.

At around 8:55am, two suspected robbers entered the bank, pretending to be customers. “A bank employee told them that the facility will open at 9am,” said Gulistan-e-Jauhar SHO Hidayatullah. “After a while, they returned and tried to rob the bank by holding the staffers hostage at gunpoint.”

The security guards, Fazal Mehmood and Ghulam Rasool, tried to catch the robbers but the suspects opened fire and critically injured Mehmood. The guards also opened fire but none of the suspects were wounded. The suspects did not manage to steal any cash but they took away the guards’ repeater gun and a pistol. The police have obtained security camera footages and started investigations. A case has also been registered.

First, why did the guards allowed the robbers to enter the bank before its opening time i.e 9.00 am ?

2) seem the guard was not trained enough, hence got injured.

3) seem the robbers were amateurs, otherwise, they would have robbed the bank anyway.
