Property tax: Recommendations put forward

The recommendations of the committee would be submitted to the chief minister for further action.

LAHORE: A six-member committee comprising representatives of the business community and officials of the tax department has been constituted to prepare recommendations on property tax. The recommendations of the committee would be submitted to the chief minister for further action. LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz termed the raise in property tax against business interests and called for their downward revision. He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry had received a number of complaints from its members against the increase in tax. Secretary Excise & Taxation Khalid Masood also directed the director general to meet the representatives of different markets and trade associations to assert their feedback on property tax rates.
