FAISALABAD:

City government officials have arrested 30 people for burning the heads and trotters of sacrificial animals in open places during the three Eid holidays. District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said burning of animal trotters and heads led to pollution.

Mengal, talking to The Express Tribune on Wednesday, said the city government had imposed a ban on burning and roasting under Section 144 of the Criminal Code of Procedure (CrPC). He said it caused pollution and a terrible smell. “Yet each year, there are some who go ahead and burn them anyway.”

He said the city government had constituted teams led by assistant commissioners to conducted raids in the city. They caught 30 people roasting trotters and heads of animals in public places.
