18-year-old man ends life after his wife left him

FAISALABAD: An 18-year-old man committed suicide after his wife left him. A Tandlianwala police spokesman said the boy, a resident of Mohallah Shamspura, had argued with his wife and she had left him three months ago. He said the boy went to her parents’ house to persuade her to return. When she refused, he swallowed poisonous pills and fainted. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Akbar Ali, a relative of the deceased, told The Express Tribune that he had married for love six months ago but had developed differences with his wife soon after. He said he had asked elders of the family to intervene on his behalf. He said his wife had not agreed to return and had asked him to leave.
