As the central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz started taking jibes at Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, parts of the crowd could be seen walking out of the hall in protest in the Express News footage.
Jeering Hamza, a woman rose and started chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in the middle of his speech.
Undeterred in her chants and stirring the crowd, 'Shame shame' could be heard echoing in the hall as Hamza is forced to cut short his speech and uncomfortably stands up from the stage to dash towards the exit door.
Hamza was the chief guest of the event and was expected to address the crowd at 11am but started his speech at 1:30pm, agitating the crowd.
The disgruntled crowd claimed that they were waiting hungry and thirsty for Hamza since eight in the morning. However, not only was he late, but he ignored the topic of tourism and only addressed the current political crisis.
This is not the first time a PML-N minister has been heckled by the crowds.
Earlier, during Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal's speech at Preston University, a student chanted 'Go Nawaz Go.' However, Iqbal was not perturbed and continued his speech, while the student was later expelled.

In begging Go Nawaz Go was national chant .... But now Go Imran Go is also becom national anthem.
why the student was expelled he should be retained by the university.....very bad action by university and this vvvviiiipppppp culture must be aborted
GO NAWAZ GO
May Allah save our children from this face!
Even if one does not agree with the way IK is going about his complaints, one has to give him his dues for bringing awareness of the citizenry against the sycophantic VVIP culture that is disgusting to state it lightly, corruption of the political class and other issues that are pulling Pakistan into an abyss of no return, well on the way to being amongst the fifty nations worst off in the world in every statistic being published today. Will the Sharifs take a lesson and not keep people waiting hours for the arrival of their highnesses, or will they take action against the valiant students??
@tao: I am with you. IK is the best possible option at this time. And we will support him.
GO NAWAZ GO
@Akram: How can you judge a person even before you have tried him. Open your mind and think positive. We have given enough changes to these musical chain parties. It Is time for PTI.
GO NAWAZ GO!
@Usman Ashraf: You are right in saying that these slogans are causing us insults outside the country as I also live outside. But my friend, the behavior of Nawaz is also causing us insults. Look at his begging bowl and look how Indian PM has spoken about Pakistani's in front of PM. In both cases if we are getting insulted then why not fight for a better leader rather than stay quiet and put our heads in the sand like an ostridge.
Can one person chant against Imran Khan where he is speaking .I guess crowd will resort to voiulence against that person because thats what IK is teaching his followers. In that respect PMLN is more democratic party.
Go Nawaz go. We don't want the VIP culture and metros. We want healthy and clean drinking water, security on the streets, quick justice, less inflation, and no terrorism; militant or political. Hamza had no business to start his speech at Zohar salat time. After salat, citizens mostly eat lunch. It is obvious that Hamza has not learnt anything from the current political turmoil. Salams
We should not call them VIPs and they should stop behaving like ones. If they are people's leaders, they better start behaving like them. We need to get rid of this VIP culture and colonial mindset. These, so called VIPs, are not even worth these alphabets. Enough is enough! Get rid of them....
Go Nawaz Go!
The clip does not show Hamza sharif being jeered but cheered (thought that lady did seem to be saying something). Poor reporting on part of ET. See the video again because it does not show what is claimed in the article (or maybe improve the sound quality/dub it to show the Express "truth" :-)
GO NAWAZ GO
on one side these pmln and ppp minisiters say that democracy is best because it gives people right to speak. But tell me what happened with the guy who said GO NAWAZ GO in Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s speech at Preston University ? Expelled What he got ? Nothing, and from now on that guy will never put up his voice against these mafia's. this is not a democracy this is called Badshahat
Too bad that you don't understand the rights and principles of democracy, in democratic countries people has the right to protest peacefully and saying openly what ever is in their mind. Your assertion is that flowers were being showered on Modi in New York, let me remind you that although Modi was implicated and rightly so in the massacre of Moslems in Gujrat for which the US government banned his travel to the US, BUT NOW HE WAS ELECTED BY THE INDIAN PEOPLE, there is no allegations of fraudulent balloting against him or his party but there is against NS, it is getting very clear that NS and his party was involved in whole sale rigging. A decent person would have left voluntarily but no our politicians when come to power think they own the country and that chair they sit on.
@Usman Ashraf: Ashraf sahab why are you feeling embarrassed if Pakistanis protest abroad. They are showing the world that they want to get rid of the prevailing corrupt VIP system. I don't see anything wrong with that. Every nation does protest against the wrongs in their country. They cannot come down all the way to Pakistan just to hold a procession can they. I hope you understand my point of view.
@Usman Ashraf: This is not an insult but shows how aware politically we are now. One should be proved of the fact that pakistanis have risen for their rights.
Oooooo! Hamza cut a sorry figure.
I think he deserved this type of response as that was not an occasion where Mr. Hamza shareef started accusing and abusing a national leader Imran khan who is fighting for a fair and free election which ensures a mandate for a leader which is fairly and freely elected by the people of Pakistan. The election of 2013 were heavily rigged and now every day a new revelation is made about the rigging by the people who were responsible for the 2013 elections.
@Akram Nawaz Sharif has disgraced himself all by his own greedy hands. Long before the 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan ever came into being. The extent of the man and his family's corruption is legendary throughout the world. He and his family have billions stashed away in the UK plundered from Pakistan and it's people. He doesn't even have the decency to throw the struggling Pakistanis a bone once in a while. He uses the entire state as his own personal bank with his family as the bankers. The rot has permeated Karachi and the entire state of Pakistan. The speech he read to the UN yesterday was delivered to a near empty chamber and was obviously written by the military. The Nawaz entourage spent their time in New York City shopping and dropping thousands of dollars of Pakistan's money purchasing high end items for themselves and their families. This is no leader, just a laughable puppet. Imran Kahn has his issues no doubt, and is not without flaws. But I believe he is an honest man....at least as honest a man as humanly possible in a country such as Pakistan. He brings young ,intelligent minds into the Pakistan political process which will pave the way for the future. No, Pakistan will not change overnight...but unless deep sustainable changes are made to the political infrastructure it will never change. Your best and brightest will leave for foreign shores. So to this end, I will have to repeat louder then ever: GO NAWAZ GO!!!!!!
GO NAWAZ GO!
Serves him right for showing up late and imposing his views on people. This corrupt, good for nothing family of idiots deserves to be shunned by the people of Pakistan who have suffered too long at their hands. GO NAWAZ GO!
@Usman Ashraf: You are absolutely right but this nation will disgrace their leader without even knowing its implication. American Indians are showering flowers on their PM, an ex murdrer but we are shouting Go N Go...many of us are doing that as a reflection of bad habbit. They do not have the brains to understand that Pakistan will not change overnight. If IK ever crs in power he would prove to be the most incompetent leader ....he will only try to get away by blaming his predecessors. God save our country.
Was it really Shame Shame? Clearly, it was Sher aya Sher aya...even when Hamza Shahbaz raised the slogan Pakistan Zindabaad lots of people joined him in that.
Good to see people raising their voices, disagreeing with the so called "leaders" and raising to leave if they don't like what is being said!
What I find interesting however is that this guy getting so ruffled by people chanting slogans! I have heard speeches of many heads of states, ministers where people chanted slogans against them and left but they calmly completed what they had to say. Here, these unqualified leaders don't even expect some one to disagree with them! To rise in protest! Incredible!
GO NAWAZ GO
I can't help it. Every time I see a photo or story about Nawaz no matter where or when, those three little powerful words keep popping into my head...and I live in Miami Florida! GO NAWAZ GO! GO NAWAZ GO!
They hav to face such slogans till they will leave........hamza shahbaz only imp is his connection vd shareef family.....but welldone .....excellent.... They deserve it..... GO NAWAZ GO
@Usman Ashraf: this should be done long time ago there is no insults in go Nawaz go more than these leader to do corruption n get all pakistani money n stack in foreign banks that time u do not feel bad.
What are his qualification except born in Sharif family with a silver foot in his mouth., There will always be brown nosing going around these dynastic political families and parties, that is why he was invited to address this gathering. The Sharifs were not always so rich, they should thank that despicable dictator Zia who brought them in the forefront and give them free hand to loot the country and now they think they are better than the rest of Pakistanis. Coming late to political or civic gatherings is a norm in Pakistan because of their arrogant thinking but the time is already changing and these people will be put in a place where they belong. This political class in Pakistan better change their attitude and thinking that they were sent to the Assemblies to serve them and not the other way around. I believe that it is the YOUNG GENERATION which is going to transform the country into a progressive modern State. Kudos to them.
We brought enough shame by begging to these so called God fathers overseas we should profoudly agitate overseas to let these nations know what is our democratic right !! Go Nawaz Go
Well done.
The Crown Prince was rightly booed by the educated class of Lahore. His Highness Mian Nawaz Sharif and Company must start packing up as he will have not time to run. The writing is on the wall - GO NAWAZ GO.
Inside Pakistan is no problem but I request my brothers and sisters living in foreign countries not to raise such slogans as such acts are causing our insult as a nation. Hope everybody reading this comment will understand my concern.
I had advised PM Nawaz in his own personal interest without any personal gain that PM Nawaz should not come into public unless he is his own enemy to listen Go Nawaz go but neither he listened to me nor his Aristotles and Platos listened to me and the result is that PM Nawaz was hooted right before him not once but each time both in Pakistan and overseas (London+New York). Today Hamza Sharif, son of Hamza Sharif was confronted with same slogan GO NAWAZ GO when he was addressing at Al Hamra, Lahore, Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
Anyone who will dare to say anything against Royal Nawaz family should be book in the blasphemy case. Kindly make a Constitutional amendment to protect the rights of Future Kings and Queens of Pakistan.
WOW!! Whether Nawaz resign or not Khan has already won his hard fought battle against the status quo as people are finally taking stand against these political mafias ..
GO NAWAZ GO.
Well deserved. These superiority complex stricken VIP's can't get over the need to constantly assert and re-assert their importance. Coming late, stranding the crowds for hours, and blocking the traffic reminds them that they are important. Mature-up. The people of Pakistan have matured.
The students were waiting since 9am in the morning but as usual the VVIP PM came at 1pm in line with his family's culture. Many students got frustrated by waiting.
I am happy people are realizing that VVIP culture must end in Pakistan! and a movement has already began
VVIP culture must end
