Jirga proposals: No response from govt or PTI, PAT yet says Siraj

LAHORE:

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq said on Monday that the opposition jirga had presented its suggestions to the government, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to end the political crisis. However, he said, neither side had responded.

He was talking to newsmen after leading the funeral prayers of Muhammad Yousuf Khan, a close associate of Maulana Maudoodi.“We want both sides to sort out issues through dialogue,” Haq said.

He said that no harm would come to the Constitution or democracy even if the sit-in continued for another 100 days.

“We don’t want anyone to add fuel to the fire. We are not a party to the issue, instead we are striving for a solution,” he said. He said the nation wanted the political situation to return to normalcy at the earliest. Haq said the situation was becoming more complicated with each passing day.
