India on Wednesday said it had arrested a Sri Lankan national on charges of spying for a ‘neighbouring country’.
According to a statement issued by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), Arun Selvarajan, a Sri Lankan national was arrested by the agency for his involvement in the Thameem Ansari case.
The arresting authorities claimed to have recovered two passports from Selvarajan’s possession, Indian and Sri Lankan.
He had allegedly gained access to certain vital Indian installations under the guise of managing events and then had allegedly passed on information regarding these installations using internet communication tools.

@Ameer Paul: India is already divided into 29 states and 7 union territories and all are naturally bound by a sacred thread of nationalism. What European unification tends to achieve now, India has done it already, a nation state with many nations within. As regards to espionage, you are still following the ancient system of human intelligence collection whereas space powers like India monitor every inch of Pakistan thru spy satellites. Instead of cultivating spy agents, you should spend your energy and resources on space sciences.
One captured, many will take his place. All the neighbors of India are it's enemies.
For the peace of the area and for the peace of the world, India should be divided into 30 separate parts to attain it's natural form.
For all the good relations Sri Lanka has with Pakistan will go down in dumps for using Lankans for spying against another country and then Pakistan will wonder why no country wants to be friends with her.
