KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced an 'open-door policy for party office bearers.

In a statement issued here, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said PPP is the inheritor of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto's vision and mission, adding that both these leaders used to be easily accessible to party office bearers.

Bilawal will begin meetings with office bearers shortly at Bilawal House, the statement added.

If Bilawal ever runs for public office, he should be forced to do so from the constituency in which Bilawal House is located. If on the other hand, he decides to contest an election from some remote corner of Sindh, there should be a stipulation that requires him to have physically lived in that constituency (something to the effect of maybe 80% of the time per year for the preceding 3 years before an election). This, of course, should apply to everyone running for public office. One of the biggest problems of our personality/savior driven parliamentary politics is that nepotism and blind patronage puts people in our assemblies who don't belong there in the first place.
