HANGU/ SHANGLA:

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and PML-N jointly protested against the sit-ins of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Hangu on Monday.

A rally titled Islami March set out from the main bazaar of Hangu city and converged at Railway Chowk where a large number of workers from both PML-N and JUI-F gathered and chanted slogans in favour of the prime minister and Parliament. Provincial and locals leaders of the two parties were also present on the occasion. Strict security measures were in place at the venue and traffic came to a standstill as a result of the protest.

Provincial senior vice president of PML-N, AlHaj Muhammad Farid Mukafir claimed the PTI chief was spreading obscenity. District president of JUI-F Qari Matiullah, on the other hand, said PAT chief Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan should stop day dreaming of a Naya Pakistan and a revolution. He added it was unfair that two parties who had gathered a “handful of people” were ignoring the mandate of millions of people and asking the prime minister to bow to their pressure.

Matiullah said the protests of PTI and PAT could set a dangerous trend and every party could gather five or six thousand people to press the prime minister to resign in the future. “Imran Khan should move a vote of no-confidence against Nawaz Sharif in Parliament rather than demanding his resignation,” he added.

Meanwhile, PTI workers protested against the PML-N in Shangla. The demonstrators participated in the rally on motorcycles and cars, chanting slogans against adviser to the prime minister, Amir Muqam. They passed through various parts of the district and convened at Besham Chowk.

“Amir Muqam is not sincere to his own area. He has done nothing for the welfare of the district,” said PTI’s local leader Haji Luqman.

If the politicians are not careful, this could really get out of hand. I think they should just load Imran Khan and Qadri and on a plane with a one-way ticket.
