An additional district and sessions judge on Friday confirmed the after-arrest bails of two men arrested for flying a kite leading to a boy’s death. Usman and Javed were released on furnishing bail bonds of Rs100,000 each after the complainant in the FIR recorded a statement before the court that they were not nominated in the FIR. The complainant said that the FIR had been registered against unidentified people. He said he had no objection if they were acquitted. Abdul Basit, a brother of the deceased, had filed a complaint under Section 302 (murder) and the Kite Flying Act with Ravi Road police against unidentified people. He said on May 18, he and his brother Rashid were on their way home when a kite string cut his brother’s neck killing him on the spot.
