New committee: Khuhro forms taskforce, says it will improve education

Khuhro said that the taskforce will assess the medium-term and long-term plans of the Sindh government

Sindh senior minister for education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has constituted a 19-member taskforce for the education department consisting of elected representatives from all political parties as well as education experts to accelerate the progress of improving education in Sindh.


According to Khuhro’s spokesperson Shakeel Memon, the taskforce will be led by politicians and is envisioned as a mechanism to fast-track education in the province.


Khuhro also said that the taskforce will assess the medium-term and long-term plans of the Sindh government as laid out in the Sindh Education Sector Plan 2014 to 2018 in order to identify the existing strategies at work for education.


He said that the three priorities for the taskforce are to identify the required legislative measures and policy instruments needed to accelerate progress in the areas identified, and to develop and execute a work plan for achieving the identified goals, and to meet every six weeks to review progress on the work plan.
