KARACHI: Diya WFC and Balochistan United qualified for the final round of the 6th National Women Football Inter-Club Championship, while Model Town and Young Rising Stars Rawalpindi also continued their winning streak.

The top two sides from each city, including departmental teams of Army and Wapda, will play in the finals that will take place in August.

According to Diya WFC manager and coach Sadia Sheikh, her young team has performed beyond expectations. However, she said that more experienced clubs like Young Rising Stars and Balochistan WFC will give her team a tough time.

“Except for four players, everyone in my time is under the age of 16, so I’m very proud of my side for reaching the finals,” Sheikh told The Express Tribune. “The championship will be a tough one among the top sides in the country. My inexperienced players will get to learn a lot from this.”
