A young girl was allegedly gang raped by three men in Dijkot, Faisalabad, police said on Monday.
They said the three men had abducted the girl from Chak 96-JB. Afzal Bao, the victim’s uncle, told reporters that his teenage niece was returning home from a bazaar when the men abducted her.
“They took her to a deserted place and raped her,” he said.
“When she resisted, they beat her up and later fled,” he said. The girl was taken to a hospital where doctors confirmed that she had been raped. They also issued her a medico-legal certificate, Bao said. Dijkot SHO said that they had registered a case.
“A police team has been formed to trace the accused. However, they are still at large. We will hopefully arrest them in the next 48 hours,” the SHO said.
