Dangerous streets: Robbers make 22 hits in Faisalabad in one day

They made off with motorcycles, mobile phones and cash.

Robbers made 22 hits in Faisalabad and its adjoining areas on Thursday.


In the first incident, masked gunmen forced their way into a house in Ghulam Muhammadabad and took the family hostage. They shot and injured 60-year-old Shamshad Bibi when she tried to resist.

The gunmen fled after looting cash, jewellery and other valuables. The woman was taken to hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.

In separate incidents, robbers snatched motorcycles, mobile phones and cash from Zafar Iqbal in Ludianwala, Naeem in Gulistan Colony, Usman in Ayub Colony, Imran on Jail Road, Abbas near Allied Hospital, Mudassir near Aminpur Bazaar, Sajid near Mominabad, Haider near Civil Lines, Imtiaz on Jaranwala Road, Zafar Iqbal near Chak 633 GB and Muhammad Rizwan near Bachiyana.

The robbers also snatched Rs100,000 from Mehmood Ahmad near Millat Chowk, Rs43,000 from Bilal in Chak 202 RB, Rs60,000 from Abdur Rehman in People’s Colony, Rs25,000 from Waqar and Rs40,000 from Fayyaz in Ghulam Muhammadabad, Rs8,000 from Dr Zahid near Chakku Mor and Rs50,000 from Mehmood Abbas in Chak 37 JB.

Unidentified men looted Rs300,000 and jewellery from a woman in People’s Colony, golden ornaments from another woman near Babar Chowk, cash and jewellery from Mehmood and a woman in Chak 485 GB.

In two other incidents, robbers looted a shop in Civil Lines and a house in the same locality.

Police registered separate cases and started investigation. No suspect had been arrested until the filing of this report.
