HARIPUR:

Activists of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Haripur chapter took out a rally in the district on Friday to protest against the killing of the party’s workers earlier this week in Lahore.

The rally began on Sheranwala Gate and ended at the main chowk in the city. Here, PAT workers blocked GT Road for some time and staged a sit-in. PAT leaders from the district, while addressing the protesters, condemned the killings of the party workers at the hands of the Punjab police.

The speakers included activists Jehangir Abbas and Raja Shamim Anwar.  At least eight workers of the party were killed and nearly 100 injured when activists clashed with Lahore police earlier
this week.
