Summer fruits: 49th mango festival starts on Jun 4

HYDERABAD:


The 49th annual mango festival in Mirpurkhas will start from June 4.


The three-day event will include a display of a number of mango varieties, such as Sindhri, Chaunsa, Siroli, Langra, Bengan Pali, Anwar Ratol, Desi and Neelum. Between 150 to 200 mango growers are expected to participate.

Mirpurkhas commissioner Sajid Jamal Abro informed a meeting that the funding for the event is being sought from banks, sugar mills and cotton factories and they are planning to spend around Rs2 million on the festival.
