Forged papers: Human trafficker arrested

The Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) arrested a key member of the international human trafficking network, and recovered 17 forged United Kingdom visa stickers and two Pakistani passports, The Express Tribune has learnt.


FIA Punjab Director Usman Anwar said a team arrested Muhammad Fayyaz from Muridke. His accomplice Abid Hussain escaped.

According to FIA officials, the ring leader of the racket, Riaz Khan, was in the UK. They said Khan had provided the stickers to his key associates in Pakistan. A case was registered against Khan in 2006 in the FIA AHTC Police Station in Lahore on charges of human trafficking and forging visa stickers.

Efforts for the arrest of Abid Hussain and extradition of Khan were underway, the FIA director said.
