SUKKUR: A heavy dust storm lashed parts of upper Sindh on Saturday evening. Some trees were uprooted and electricity poles and signboards fell to the ground, causing blackouts in many areas. According to the Met office in Sukkur, the speed of the evening dust storm was 20 knots. The heavy dust storm hit Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki and some other parts of upper Sindh. Strong winds and light to heavy showers are taking place in these areas since the start of May. Though these strong winds and rains have turned the weather pleasant for the residents but they have created problems for the growers.
