The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the deputy attorney general and provincial advocate-general on Tuesday on the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) appeal against the single bench’s order to stop construction work on underpasses and a flyover in Clifton.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has assailed a single bench’s order passed on April 20, allowing the Defence Housing Authority’s lawsuit against such constructions by Bahria Town claiming the same was being carried out in violation of environmental laws.
Farooq H Naek, the KMC’s lawyer, maintained that the project in question is of national importance and its suspension is causing inconvenience to the general public, as well as significant losses to the appellant.

Who is going to ask from the KMC for the funds allocated earlier for the development work. Appears that the PPP, being the past rulers had convinced Malik Riaz to carry out the development work which would facilitate him with a clear approach to his building project and would in turn give a better approach to Bilawal House (Whata clever Deal?? getting rid from the accountability of corruption in the development funds) DHA has all the right to interfere with major concern over the flow of heavy traffic into the streets of DHA residential area thus violating the environmental laws.
"causing inconvenience to the general public". It's construction is causing inconvenience too. I doubt if it will benefit anyone except of course those who will have offices and flats in the high-rise building being built by Bahria.
I don't know why DHA creates hurdles as Malik Riaz is doing good job why and why KMC favors the project. We all know that Malik's more interest for developing Bahria Town Building duly supported by PPP Sindh. Still don't know DHA's conflict with the said project.
