Putting the record straight: I believe in the sanctity of army, says Rafique

Rafique says he could not think of maligning armed forces as they are custodian of Pakistan’s boundaries.

While defending his views on former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday said he sincerely believed in the sanctity of Pakistan Army.  In a media statement, he said he could not think of maligning the armed forces because ‘they are the custodian of Pakistan’s territorial and ideological boundaries’.  “I have on record praised the role of Gen (retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who with his sagacity depoliticised the institution of Armed Forces in the past six years.”
