Till death do us part: Clash over marriage proposal kills 10

Five others also sustained bullet injuries when two groups clashed.

ABBOTABAD: Ten people were shot dead while five others sustained bullet injuries when two groups clashed in a marriage dispute in a village of Tehsil Havelian here on Wednesday evening. Four women were among the dead, police said, during the dispute between the Mushtaq Shah and Yusuf Shah groups of village Chamak Maira over a marriage proposal. Both sides have scuffled several times recently. On Wednesday evening, armed men opened fire on the wedding procession of one of the men from the Yusuf Shah group, killing eight on the spot. When the attacked party opened fire, two men from the Mushtaq Shah group were killed and others injured. The names of the deceased have yet to be confirmed and the bodies were shifted to a local hospital.
