MANSEHRA: The chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, Maulana Fazlur Rehman condemned the blast in Sabzi Mandi, Islamabad on Wednesday. He said the attack was an attempt to sabotage the peace talks. Talking to the media he said it was his party that had been struggling for peace in the country since 2008. “It was because of my efforts that a resolution for peace talks with the Taliban was tabled in the assembly,” he said. “We formed a tribal jirga and persuaded the parliament, government and military authorities to have the talk.” While Rehman hopes the talks will be successful, he said his party was staying away because of a vacuum in the process.
