KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to immediately release two of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft it had seized earlier, Express News reported.

The FBR had confiscated the carriers for non-payment of tax worth Rs56 million. PIA had then filed a petition, challenging this move.

During today’s hearing, PIA lawyer Haider Sheikh informed the court that the two aircraft were rented from a European company and the said tax was not applicable on them.

After hearing the argument, the SHC ordered the release of the aircraft. The trial was adjourned till April 28 when the applicability of the tax will be discussed.

Mo Manuwar | 10 years ago | Reply when will FBR. confiscate any property of politicians, crook business men,,,,they should start with sharif brothers, then Zardari and co,work their way downwards ,otherwise its just topi d tree drama
