Crime update: Two tribesmen gunned down

Two Mehsud tribesmen were killed and two injured near Tehsil Datta Khel Bazaar on Saturday.


An official of the political administration said unknown gunmen intercepted and ambushed their vehicle while the four men were en route to Lora Mandi from Datta Khel tehsil, North Waziristan Agency.


While the assailants managed to escape, locals rushed to the scene upon hearing gunshots and shifted the injured men to the hospital.


Meanwhile, an elder from Hasokhel area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan Agency was set free. Malik Amanullah Khan was kidnapped by unknown gunmen a month ago. According to a political administration official, masked militants barricaded Mir Ali Bazaar and intercepted Khan’s vehicle while he was returning to his Hasokhel residence. He added that the elder was dropped off at a hotel in Miranshah Bazaar on Saturday following a jirga convened by Political Agent Siraj Ahmad Khan.
