The resolution was proposed by Leader of the Opposition and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Mian Mehmoodur Rashid.
On March 18, the MQM chief had appealed to the armed forces not to pay heed to the government in case they ask the military to intervene in Sunni-Shia conflicts in Muslim countries.
Speaking at the party’s 30th Foundation Day, celebrated at Jinnah ground in Karachi, the party leader had said, “The government should not use the Pakistan army for their own purpose and should not involve them in killing Muslim brothers in Libya, Syria, Bahrain and other countries.”
Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid supported the resolution that was submitted in the assembly today.
This is the second time a resolution was proposed against Altaf's statements.

Punjab Assembly is a perfect ugly symbol of status quo. PTI, PML N, PP, PML Q members from Punjab are happily silent over rapes, making naked women stroll in the village, under the table deals with sectarian banned outfits. But whenever there is a clear and loud voice coming from a middle class party over life and death issues facing Pakistan, they stand united. Is this not strange ?
When will PTI learn, stop taking this person seriously for god's sake. He says something one day and apologizes the next day, he is not a mentally stable person and nothing he says needs to be taken seriously except for the robotic followers.
@Muslim Leaguer: OK he may live a luxurious life. What about your leader? What about his royal, royal lifestyle, his palaces? I find it very ironic when you yourself support such hypocrisy and then come out all guns blazing on the very same points against who you don't support, but for your people all's forgiven.

The self-contradictory statements of Altaf Hussain prove that MQM has lost all hopes for staying relevant in Pakistani politics. Nowhere has to concentrate in London where he lives a luxurious life at Mill Hill, Abbey View, London.
On occasions like these (not on every instance), I shall praise Altaf Hussein. Even higher I shall praise the MQM leaders and MQM workers in Pakistan who know that there could be serious repercussions and reactions against them in Pakistan from all, including the army, the government and various religious parties, but are not shying away from backing Altaf Hussein. In any case, MQM is the only party (not even PTI) that has stood equally for both sunnis and shias of Pakistan.

come on PTI ,there are more burning issue in Punjab,like rape,kidnapping for ransom,prize hike....these are issue which should be raised in assembly..
I don't understand what PTI is going through? What they have given their voters except disappointment? Do they want army to take anti state orders from government? What AH has said wrong?
Altaf Hussein has no right to take part in Pakistani politics residing in the UK. If he wants to be a leader in Pakistan, then he ought to come back and deal with the issues sitting right here in Pakistan.
@Student: Altaf Hussain is wrong because Pakistan will never send its troops in Syria to fight against Assad regime. Before Syrian conflict Pakistan had refused its troops involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, although Americans had put huge pressure on Pakistan government. Altaf Hussain should not raise an issue which is already settled. He is trying his best to create rifts between military and civilian government. In other countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and UAE, Pakistan has already military presence ( for decades and with complete military agreement) which helps these countries to maintain peace and security. Thousands of retired Pakistani soldiers are already working in security services in these countries. There are millions of Pakistanis working in Arab states, therefore its in Pakistan's interest to maintain status quo in these countries. If these countries are not protected against outside aggression, millions of Pakistanis would return to Pakistani which would result in huge financial and social problems for Pakistan. Our own future depends on safety and security of Arab states. Pakistan should do everything in its power to keep peace in Arab States.
@Asghar, because army has got nothing to do at the moment and we can't afford such a big army. Either we have to reduce them significantly or to transform army (well they are already, see Afghanistan war) mercenaries.
Any PML/PPP fan tell me why they are correct and AH is wrong ?

I always criticize MQM and Altaf hussain and die heart supporter of PTI, but I completely support the recent statement of AH, we should learn from our past and stop meddling in our friendly muslim countries. I don't understand the logic of this resolution moved by PTI and its confusion over national security approach.
Mr. Altaf Hussain, your statement has made Pakistani nationals Proud, please do not stop giving such advices, which are in favour of Pakistan. I, being an independent person, congratulate MQM for backing Pakistan Army. MQM Sindh needs you, Punjab needs you or in short the Whole Pakistan needs you. May ALLAH bless you Altaf Hussain and MQM.

I think for the first time in my life, I seem to agree with Altaf Hussein. Why in the world would we want to get involved in other countries? have we still not learnt our lesson?

PTI needs to worry about 35 Punctures more than Altaf Hussain's statement ;)
What goes around comes back around - with perfect accuracy! He is correct "This Time" for a change, a sane statement in an insane state. But our Govt. will seduce the army to bite the bait and we will make the "Afghanistan" mistake again and sufferings will continue for masses due to vested interest of few.
Mr.Altaf's comment does not apply to Pakistan. The military never listens to the government anyway.
@Necromancer: Army asked to disobey orders from the government and its commander in chief. Thats whats wrong with the statement. Orders are meant to be obeyed not questioned.

PTI please focus on the number of people dying almost on a daily basis in your province instead of picking on whatever other's may say or do, maybe, maybe you could do some useful work.
Altaf Hussain makes perfect sense, yet again, if only we could stay focused on what is happening inside our borders instead of poking our nose here and there, lesson for PTI, please do your job first.

Well said by Mr Altaf, why PTI and PML-N wants to intervene in affairs of other countries, our army should never take part in Gulf crisis.

I am a biggest critic of M.Q.M and A.H, but this time he is absolutely right , we Didn't learned from our past so be prepared to pay back again.
While I agree with the resolution I dont think PTI needed to move it.
Even though I hate Altaf Hussain a lot, but whatever he said about army is not as bad as PMLN or PTI are taking it.
He said some way too stupid stuff before and none of them even thought twice, but now since he is supporting the army and saying whatever a common man in Pakistan wants, everyone is going insane!! LOL
