Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha has not only dubbed but also sung for the Hindi version of Hollywood film Rio 2. The vivacious actress has lent her voice for the Hindi dubbed version of the movie.
She has given a voiceover for a character named Jewel, a macaw, while Imran Khan has done the same for another character.The English version of the movie will see the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg.
Sonakshi has sung a few lines for an interesting party sequence and she had a complete blast while dubbing the film.
“I enjoyed dubbing for Rio 2. It’s such a fun film and Imran and I were perfect for the characters of Blu and Jewel. There’s a scene where Jewel is dancing and singing, so they made me sing a few lines as well. It was such a new experience, I would have loved to sing more, but unfortunately, I am only just a bathroom singer,” said the actor, according to Times of India.
The Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara couple, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan will feature as the lovable macaws Jewel and Blu respectively. While B-town actors have lent their voices for some small-scale productions, this is the first time such a massive Bollywood association is taking place for a Hollywood franchise.
Fox’s Rio 2 is a 3D film that will be releasing on April 11, 2014 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu. It is currently one of the most anticipated Hollywood movies in India. It is an adventurous comedy set in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The movie will feature the return of Blu, Jewel and their three kids who leave their domesticated life for a journey to Amazon rainforest.
