KARACHI:

The Sindh government is working on a war-footing basis to control the situation in Tharparkar and will make full efforts to help the affected people, said former Sindh local bodies minister, Syed Owais Muzaffar, on Wednesday.

"We will not leave the people of Thar alone in their hard times. Apart from Tharparkar, we will make complete arrangements to deal with any disaster that may hit Thatta and Sujawal." The former minister left for Thatta on Wednesday and presided over a meeting in which he was briefed about the development work in Thatta and Sujawal by the officials of the district administration.

He directed the officials to speed up the development work and provide all the basic facilities to the masses. Talking to the media, he said Pakistan Peoples Party chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari are monitoring the situation in Tharparkar and have instructed the officials to make a comprehensive policy.
