In a meeting with the House of Lords member Lord Nazir Ahmed in Islamabad on Saturday, the interior minister was requested to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and the problems they face while waiting to receive their stamp of entry into Pakistan.
Issuing directives to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to set up a special cell to look into all problems faced by overseas Pakistanis when they visit or stay in Pakistan, Nisar directed immigration authorities to adopt a more traveller-friendly attitude towards all visitors and do everything possible to make their entry and exit as trouble-free as possible.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the government, particularly the ministry of interior, is committed to cut the red tape and come down hard on all kinds of corruption, and that all departments facilitate the public, especially the overseas Pakistanis who are on a short visit to their homeland.
The meeting also discussed Pak-UK relations and the need to maintain close liaison between the two governments and their parliaments.
In 2012, Pakistan received the largest number of visitors from the UK, as many as 305,403

How come those 17 ladies got through without immigration @ ISD airport, did the Govt fired all the Immigration officers on duty on that date? I don't know how many terrorist, enemy agents and else pass through without registration @ port of arrival. Or, is it money that talks.
Few years back I landed @ KHI. There were separate lines for Foreign passport holders and for Pakistani passport holders. Being foreign passport holder our line was moving faster. Seeing this all the Pakistani passport holder jumped in our line, The cop and the immigration officer entertained them and didn't said a word. And, I was in no mood to fight with those uneducated people after 16 hours of flight.
Everytime, we land in Pakistan, we see discrimination and hatred on our own soil. People act like saints on foreign airports, and as soon as they land on Pakistani Airports, they become uncivilized. This nation needs to be dealt with IRON FIST!!! Yeh dandey ke qoum hay bhai dandey ke!!!
I hope, Government privatizes all the Airports. This will be a huge relief. Only the corrupt people are afraid of privatization because their black business will abolish.
I am living abroad for the past 8 years or so, in my personal observation, I think the people coming in needs to be patience a lot more.
We are not organized, what I have observed, we all pays no respect to the cue line, they feel obscured if they stand in line specially if they are coming from Europe or States, whether they are elite or lower class of the society.
No respect to the people who have families and specially elderly!!!
We need to learn manners ourselves first.
I don't have any personal relationship with Hi-up's, but I never felt in my 8 years, what others have expressed their views.
If we all stand patiently and stand in cue, and wait for our turn, we end up finishing early and peacefully.
When my turn comes up, it took the officer hardly 2 minutes, to snap my picture, ask me from where I am coming and off I go.
P.S: However, I would strongly and hardly put my point towards CAA, who are the most lazy for baggage clearance. The worst I have experienced in the whole world, even in Africa small countries, you don't have to bear this much that in our own country!!!
One of the most lucrative posting - How can they reduce pain for international travelers, for them everyone is a suspect!
There should be an online complaint system where travelers can lodge their complaints about specific individuals
Pheww... for a moment i actually thought they were going to take about the repressive remittances rates govt sets to rip off Foreign Pakistanis.
I fly to Pakistan twice a year. I really would like to see Immigration & custom officers do their job with smile and little faster since most of the overseas( USA) flights arrive early in the morning at Karachi. Immigration Officer should smile and say welcome home will make our long journey stress go away.
Please look after the Pakistani from UK at least----- because we have sustained the whole present government of Pakistan for many many years out of our tax money ....at least have some mechanism to issue visa to Ex-Pakistanis upon arrival ..plus stop Police from checking bags at airport exit ...after going through customs check ..plus revisit liquor control laws they are so outdated ...
@Janet Gracia Texas USA: Never
Its only a natural response. They wonder why you ever returned. True story.
