DERA MURAD JAMALI: An explosion occurred on a railway track in Mangoli, Balochistan on Thursday morning, Express News reported.

Rescue teams are enroute to the blast site, while no loss of life was reported.

Trains on that track were diverted to Dera Allahyar and Jacobabad railway stations after the explosion.

A few railway tracks have been blown up in the country recently in a series of attacks.

Less than a week ago, at least six people – including four children – were killed and more than 35 injured when two coaches of the Peshawar-bound Khushhal Khan Khattak Express derailed after a bomb attack on February 16. The high-intensity bomb was detonated on the tracks near a canal, 15 kilometres away from Thull town of Jacobabad district.

On February 5, a six-year-old girl was killed and at least nine others wounded when a bomb tore through a Lahore-bound passenger train near Dhabiji, around 56 kilometres off Karachi.

In light of these attacks, the Pakistan Railways police have devised a security plan which includes the patrolling of its tracks to evade terrorist attacks and tighten security of railway stations.
