Grenade attack on former senator’s guesthouse leave’s guard injured

The assailant was successful in fleeing the scene.

SHABQADAR: One unidentified assailant on a motorcycle attempted a grenade attack on the guesthouse of former senator and tribal leader of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Haji Dilawar Khan in Haleemzai, Shabqadar on Sunday.

Haji Dilawar Khan’s son, while speaking to The Express Tribune said that he was busy with Isha prayer when the he heard the noise of the blast. He said that when he reached the guesthouse, the guard at the gate had been injured as a result of cross-fire between the two parties.

The assailant was successful in fleeing the scene.

This is the fifth attack on Haji Dilawar Khan’s guesthouse in the past year. As a result of a previous such attack in 2012, Haji Dilawar Khan’s son, former MPA and leader of the QWP Haji Muhammad Ali died.
