Blasphemy trial: Date fixed for suspect's statement

Complainant says he and neighbour were talking when Sawan Masih used derogatory language.

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday fixed February 20 for recording the statement of Sawan Masih, accused of blasphemy.  The incident was connected to the arson of more than 150 houses in Joseph Colony. Complainant Shahid Imran said he and a neighbour were talking when Sawan Masih. He said he used derogatory language against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He said when he and his neighbour asked him not to use such language he did not stop. Sawan Masih fled the scene when they tried to catch him. Imran registered an FIR against him under Section 295/C of the PPC in the Badami Bagh police station.
