Violence round-up: Three persons shot dead in targeted attacks

KARACHI: Three people were killed in separate acts of target killings in different areas on Tuesday.

A bank manager, Khurram, 38, son of Hanif, was shot dead near Siemens Chowrangi within the limits of SITE police station.

Police officials said that deceased was travelling in his car when armed motorcyclists shot him multiple times. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was a resident of Dhoraji Society. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained. Separately, 55-year-old Muhammad Iqbal, son of Inayat, was shot dead when armed men opened fire at his car on Siddiq Wahab Road within the limits of Napier police station.

SHO Azam Khan said that deceased belonged to the Ismaili community and lived in Garden, adding that he used to run his private school.

He said that the incident took place when the victim was on his way to home from school, adding that he was shot once in the neck. He was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi, where breathed his last.

The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, Gul Rehman, 42, son of Ali Rehman, was shot dead in Qaimkhani Colony within Ittehad Town police remits.

Police officials said that deceased was a security guard by profession and lived in the same area, adding that he was going somewhere when unidentified armed persons killed him over unexplained reasons.
