Freewill marriage: Men kill two brothers, kidnap girl

The police lodged an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s uncle Haji Sher Ali Rajpur.

Three people have been arrested by the Khairpur police on Monday for their alleged involvement in the killings of two brothers and the kidnapping of a girl from Pir Wassan village within the Thari Mir Wah police limits on Sunday evening.


A group of armed men raided the village and fired indiscriminately, which resulted in the death of two brothers, Imran and Saeed, sons of Ahmed Khan Rajpar. The brothers died on the spot while five others — Zamiran, Haleeman, Hawa, Manzoor and Mumtaz — were injured. The armed men kidnapped Sonia, wife of Manzoor Rajpar, and fled.


The police reached the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to the taluka hospital. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family after postmortem. The police lodged an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s uncle Haji Sher Ali Rajpur. He included five people - Akbar Ali, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Rasool, Arif and Ali Hassan - in his complaint and also mentioned two unidentified men. Akbar, Ali Hassan and Bashir Ahmed have been arrested while raids are being conducted to arrest the others.
