Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has granted an exclusive interview to Express News anchor Dr Moeed Pirzada.

The interview, which will be aired by Express News today (Friday), is the minister’s first exclusive interaction with any television channel since he briefed the prime minister and his cabinet on January 1.

In the interview, Dar will be questioned about how – despite his exhortation to the business community to ‘sell their dollars’ – the value of the rupee against the dollar continues to decline.

The finance minister will also reveal information never made public before about the Coalition Support Fund payments and the deadlock with the US over certain issues.

He will explain how his experience as a chartered accountant can help resolve the row over $800 million Etisalat owes the government.

Dar will also be asked to explain his optimistic projections pertaining to Eurobond, remittance based flotation and the Global Rupee Bond, and the government’s approach towards the IMF and curtailing inflation.
