Snatching: Armed motorcyclists deprive woman of gold, cash

Victim's husband says he will return to Poland, robbers made off with valuables worth over Rs5 million.

Two armed motorcyclists deprived a woman of cash, gold ornaments and other valuables at gunpoint in the limits of Sadiqabad Police Station on Saturday.


Muhammad Qandeel Aslam lodged a report with the police stating that he parked his car by the roadside in Shamasabad and went into a shop to buy some marble, leaving his wife alone in the car. Two robbers on a bike came and snatched her purse while he was still inside.

Police said that the footage of the incident has been acquired from a CCTV camera installed at the marble shop and efforts were underway to arrest them.

“I am settled in Poland and recently had returned to build a house in Sector G/15, Islamabad."

“The robbers shattered my dream. I will go straight back to Poland as life and property is not safe here,” said Aslam. He said that the purse contained 53 Euros, around 625g gold and other valuables worth Rs5 million rupees.

Is it ok in Poland to roam around with this much valuables!? 5m valuables + 2.5m gold = 7.5m = ~75,000 USD!!

Sorry for the victims loss, but keeping "valuables" worth 50 lakhs in a purse? How smart is that knowing very well what the situation in PK is like.

On a side note, I'm curious what those valuables were.
