Members of a medical board, which was constituted to review Musharraf’s health, will also have a video conference with foreign cardiac surgeons to discuss the former president’s condition.
His health has improved since yesterday when he was admitted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) for heart problems that he suffered on his way to court. However, no one has been allowed to meet him because of the strict protocol in place at the military hospital.
Earlier today, the Shuhada Foundation of Lal Masjid also submitted a request in the Islamabad High Court to stop former president Pervez Musharraf from leaving the country.
The former military ruler was due to appear in court on January 2 and face treason charges under Article 6 for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
It is the first time in Pakistan’s history that a former military ruler has been put on trial for treason.
Saga
According to sources close to Musharraf, he is likely to fly out of the country as part of a ‘secret deal’.
Members of the medical board had recommended that Musharraf be kept in hospital until Saturday and will meet again today to decide whether or not Musharraf should continue his treatment in AFIC.
More than 600 security officers have been deployed to provide security to the former president.
According to his family members, Musharraf had been smoking more cigars and jogging less as the treason case approached.
Blood samples have been collected and several tests were also conducted.

Pakistan is firmly in the hands of various types of mafias. Some of them wear uniforms and others don't. Good luck in dealing with them !!
@yamuri: Whatever makes you sleep better.....if you're able to sleep unlike Mush these days. I wish him every health but he should be tried for subverting the constitution of Pakistan....
The only way to deal with the Kangaroo trial, purchased judges and naked vendetta
Now come on. How bad it could be. If PCB can make Akhtar's "genital warts" medical report public, why can't brave soldier Mushy come out in the open too
The whole Musharraf saga clearly shows that what ever ill happens to this country their stake holder in uniform never learn.
@Kamran Khan: So you are saying Musharraf case is India's revenge for the Kargil humiliation?
@Zif:
Health yes; but without sectio aurea, the divine section which he lost when invading the House of God.

Is the General's medical report a security threat to Pakistan or he is hail and hearty which will make him appear before the court being avoided with purpose ?
You know what guys, frankly I'm happy Musharraf can leave. He was a good president, he wasn't corrupt. If you compare musharraf's time in office to nawaz or zardari, it seems like heaven. Even if he is faking his medical conditions, he isn't the first one. Musharaff deserves to be treated better.
@Aftab Nabi: "Get well soon, President Pervez Musharraf. You are needed by the country." I guess you're mistaking courts with country.....
Don't worry "General" Saudi foreign minister is coming. You will feel better then.
@Nida Alvi: And how do you know Musharraf is not pious and sincere in his heart? Do you receive a vahi from the Almighty directly?
Where Musharraf took power using the doctrine of necessity, he also fought for Pakistan in the 1971 war. His time in power was not for naught. It brought progress in the country. Yes he did have missteps just as all other clowns currently ruling have had and those before them but he was and still is sincere towards the country. There is not a single case of corruption against him which stands out in stark and glaring contrast to all other politicians perhaps except Imran Khan.
Your populist "anti-dictator" rants are devoid of sense and are the usual tamasha/drama commentary that we have become so accustomed to in Pakistan through our idiotic media which last I remembered was emancipated by no other than Musharraf.
May Allah give PM my life. Leave this country Sir, where you can't expect justice. Leave these people onto the mercy of NS, Zardari and Fazlur Rehman. They don't deserve you.
@ Mard-e-Haq Don't judge from the photo posted on ET's website because the Pro-Mush moderator of ET has posted the photo of her/his own choice. Even Zardari & Gilani, having more photos in this pose, doesn't mean that they are highly pious. Be realistic!
We need you Sir to get us rid from corrupt leaders.
Get well soon President Gen.(r) Pervaiz Musharraf. We righteous Pakistanis pray for your speedy recovery. Even if you leave(which I doubted) it will be the right decision. In this whole corrupt society, an honest man is difficult to survive.
They do not need to publlish the medical report; any medical doctor knows that Mr Parwez Musharaf needs psychiatric examination for urgent treatment and convalescence. He is no longer aware of the reality when he says that he did not contemplate the 'treason' charge!

His health has improved since yesterday His health will improve dramatically once he reaches abroad.
"Mai darta warta kisi se nahi, bas ammi yad aa rahi hai" Lolz Musharraf!!!
A pious man, judging from the photo. He is giving shukur to Allah.
Maybe the good general has a digital heart in which one can preset an 'alarm'.
People of Pakistan have become so strong that Pak army has to play tricks to defeat them. Who are these strong people? not me not you I suppose, yes shareefs and zardaris with the sold judiciary and media... that army seems helpless, these super rich are allowed to forgive each other, their kingdoms are so huge that ex army chief is a small creature like other Pakistanis, he doesn't deserve the privileges that are reserved for a few elite family......ex army chief should be treated like a common man...exemption will be given only to the shareef and zardaris ...... Pakistan army has become so weak. disgusting. shame on army.
All our politician and so called leaders make everything fake to rule and abuse....
Why the Hospital is not issuing health bulletins in respect of Musharraf. There seem to be a big drama by the Government, Army, Saudi Arabia. This is not coincidence that the KSA FO arrived here without an agenda. Musharraf has palatial buildings in posh localities in London and Saudi Arabia.
@Aftab Nabi: yeah needed to give us more kargil disasters and NRO
A BIG ... BUAHAHAHAHAHA ...
Naya Pakistan Zindabad +++++++++++++++++++++ Armed Forces Cardio Centre Zindabad
@Pakistani: generals' army
What a rubbish media drama played by PMLN to distract people. Infact PMlN and Zardari gangsrers should be tried NOT Musharraf. They must have paid billions to the media to publicise this cheap stunt.
The sitting PM lied about the existence of an agreement of his safe exit only to be proven otherwise. Why is not there a charge against him in court?!!. This whole drama by Nawaz Sharif is to settle his personal score with Gen. Musharraf and at the same time send a message to the Army so that he can run this country like his business empire.
Musharraf must not be allowed to leave Pakistan
Musharraf must not be allowed to leave Pakistan. He must be treated the same as any other ordinary Pakistan person. No ordinary person facing treason and murder charges would be allowed to leave Pakistan.
Public in Pakistan are the subjects of the corrupt politicians and generals hence a right decision
Same happened with Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz sharif has not changed.
Get well soon, President Pervez Musharraf. You are needed by the country.
smoking not all that injurious, causes heart attack at the right time, wishing Sadr Saheb speedy recovery
Long live Pervez Musharraf Saheb.
Because the report and complain is fake and just tactical escape by the agencies.
there we go again. Army playing tricks with people again.
History repeats itself, lets see how many suitscase this time....???
