But the nomination of some feudal lords and wealthy figures to party top slots dashed hopes of our countrymen, especially those who had joined the party on the basis of the PTI’s promises of revolutionsing the country’s politics. The nomination of Shireen Mazari, a lady with a feudal background, as information secretary disappointed media professionals in addition to party workers. Moreover, the nomination of Jahangir Tareen as general secretary added a fresh feudal outlook to the party. All heavyweights, like Tareen, vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ishaq Khakwani are seen as believers in power politics.
The panorama of opportunities for the workers to participate in decision-making and to stand among the top lot has diminished. Javed Hashmi, although groomed from the grassroots, has now joined the ranks of those indulging in power politics. In short, the feudal mindset in the PTI’s top ranks has minimised the worries of its opponents.
All except a few are indulging in the ‘power politics’ which the PTI announced it wanted to get rid of. With due apologies to PTI leaders, many wait the day Imran Khan’s own sons jump into politics and the chapter of dynastic politics in the party commences. If this happens, the PTI will acquire the same colours that the PML-N, the PPP and the PML-Q currently don.

I didnt even care to read the article. Thumbs up if you did likewise.
Well, when PTI becomes that "feudal" party and Imran brings his sons in, please do write an article on it. But before that, it's just speculation and nothing else. The biggest thing which separates PTI from others is the fact that they held a first ever intra party election last year despite being so close to an election. Despite being less than perfect, it still put a precedent of who will get to be in leadership positions in PTI. We don't see any such indication from any of the major parties. JI is an exception.
The nominations we saw currently are a temporary affair. PTI will likely hold another intra party election soon with improved processes to ensure it's free and fair and we will see new leadership emerge as it did during the previous elections to some extent as well. We might want to recall the famous case of Humayun Chacha of Kohat.

@kamran: http://www.hrw.org/news/2013/09/18/bangladesh-death-sentence-violates-fair-trial-standards this was what ImrAN KHAN was taking about.
It seems people are making career out of PTI/IK- bashing. I reckon very soon there will be degrees offered in Journalism with specialization in PTI/IK bashing.
Very shallow, childish article. No substance just propaganda.
this is such a biased article because Imran khan never said he would bring his sons in to policies and the author portray as his sons are jumping into policies. ET do you encourage your reporters to write against PTI
Imran Khans only aim in life is narcistic personality, in his just recent interivews he blames Pakistani army for atrocities in Bnagladesh but when when Bangladeshi court convicts those aiding Pakistani army in atrocities he takes a complete U turn and says these convicted people were innocent, what a weak man who only wants his picture in newspapers
Seriously ET just has to publish article since it was shorten of articles about PTI , IK and KPK in general. It's a waste of time to read such stupid, biased articled with no prior homework. Go on and don't publish my comment as ALWAYS !
Fed Up First l ask Imran to start accountability within his own party and tell us, where our money as overseas Pakistanis was spent during the election campaign. Millions were collected but no accountability.
Secondly his party is full of feudals who will never appeal to the common man or woman as before, fake degrees and non-payment of Income tax by Imran and his 18 other parliamentarians clearly proves that all these power hungry politicians are above the law. Why preach to others about corruption first they must clean their own house.
I understand you are 18 but these people are playing with your life and future you can trust them I don't and never will. There are many unethical things going on in PTI at the top, PTI is a flop just like all the other govt.s they are good for street gatherings that is the max!!
@Nawaz Sharif: Still waiting for the day that happens
Dear author, while you mention all its these feudal individuals you take fail to mention their experience. For eg, Shah Mehmood Qureshi is an experienced diplomat and ex foreign minister as so is often seen with Imran Khan while meeting foreign delegations. Along with this, you fail to mention many of the young individuals who gained power for the first time from humbler backgrounds in the election earlier on during the year. These younger individuals still have a great deal of experience to gain before they can effectively take up leadership roles in a party of PTI's size. Now to get to what is new about PTI, it is simple. PTI believes in accountability. As an 18 year old, I feel like the generation before me in general has accepted the widespread corruption in our society. On the other hand our generation is still learning and still does question it. The reason many people trust PTI is due to it wanting to bring about accountability, which I do feel it has brought on its members. At this point people aren't satisfied with the last government cause it consists of feudals, but rather that the party of mostly feudals failed to deliver overall in their 5 years in power from 2008 to 2013. If the old government had done a good job, regardless of who its members were, we would happily bring them back wouldn't we? But no all we saw was complete lack of accountability. PTI has made it clear that its members cannot get away with unethical acts and that is why it is different. I would just like to say these are my personal opinions, I do not mean any offence to the author and I am just merely stating my own view on the matter. Thank you!
ET, stop obsessing about PTI. Jeez.
