SUKKUR: Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party’s co-chairperson, Asif Ali Zardari, is expected to visit Khangarh in district Ghotki on December 28 on the invitation of former Sindh chief minister and MNA Ali Mohammad Mahar. Zardari will also attend a luncheon at Gohar Palace. The lunch is being held to most likely discuss the upcoming local government elections and distribution of seats, especially in Ghotki and Sukkur districts. The Mahar brothers of Ghotki had reportedly joined the PPP on the condition that two National Assembly seats and three Sindh Assembly seats will be given to them.

Poor jiyalas, they gave everything they could to stand up against the usurpers of power in the party's hardest days without the expectation of seats. And all they got was street fights and attacked properties. While the likes of Zulfiqar Mirza were promoting tension between ethnic groups and newcomers took national seats and ministries. To restore the equality and merit within the party, they should stand up against this opportunism.
